FAQ from Ittybit
What is Ittybit?
Ittybit is a scalable, API-first media infrastructure platform engineered for developers who need reliable, intelligent, and cost-efficient video, audio, and image processing — without managing servers, CDNs, or ML models. It unifies storage, transformation, AI analysis, and delivery into a single, predictable service.
How to use Ittybit?
Start by authenticating with your API key, then call endpoints to upload media, define transformations (e.g., “resize to 1280x720, convert to MP4”), or trigger intelligence tasks (e.g., “transcribe audio, detect faces, flag unsafe content”). Use webhooks or automations to chain operations — all handled asynchronously and at scale.
What is delivery?
Delivery measures the total volume of data served from Ittybit to end users via its integrated multi-CDN network. Charges apply only to egress bandwidth — no fees for requests, regions, or cache hits. Predictable pricing: 1GB delivered = 1GB billed.
What is storage?
Ittybit’s secure, S3-compatible object storage includes automatic cross-region replication and daily snapshots. You’re billed per GB per day for all stored assets — originals, derivatives (thumbnails, compressed versions), and metadata — prorated hourly.
What is task processing?
Task usage reflects compute resources consumed during media operations: Intelligence (speech/text/object analysis), Tracks (subtitles/captions), Sources (multi-input compositing), and Automations. Calculated as input + output file size (e.g., 100MB upload + 15MB transcript = 115MB task usage).
How do overages work?
If you exceed plan allowances for delivery, storage, or tasks, overages are billed automatically at month-end (or annually, if on an annual plan). Rates are transparently listed per GB or per unit — no hidden fees or minimum commitments.
Can I set a limit on overage charges?
While real-time usage dashboards let you monitor consumption across all dimensions, hard spending caps are available upon request. Contact Ittybit sales to configure custom guardrails or migrate to a higher-tier plan with built-in buffers.
What are file access rules?
Granular permissions for individual files or folders: enforce signed URLs, restrict playback by geography or IP range, require authentication tokens, or disable public access entirely. Available starting on the Startup plan.
What is advanced data?
Extended observability features including 30-day audit logs, per-file delivery heatmaps, latency breakdowns by region, and error diagnostics. Ideal for debugging, compliance, and optimizing media performance. Included in Startup and above.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Cancel your subscription anytime via the billing portal. Your access remains active through the end of your current billing cycle — no prorated refunds, but no surprise renewals either.
What is the refund policy?
Ittybit offers a full 30-day money-back guarantee on all paid plans. After this window, refunds are considered case-by-case — especially for enterprise agreements — but unused credits may be applied toward future services.
Can I pay by invoice?
Invoicing is available for Scale plan subscribers and enterprise customers. Staging and Startup plans use Stripe for automated, credit-card-based billing. Contact sales to discuss net terms or purchase order requirements.
What is priority and Slack support?
Priority & Slack support gives you direct access to Ittybit’s engineering-led support team via dedicated Slack channels and expedited email response (under 2 business hours for critical issues). Includes proactive guidance on architecture, optimization, and best practices — included in Startup and higher tiers.
